val-day! ♥$BlogItemTitle$> @ Monday, February 15, 2010
february the 14th may, well, be chinese new year for most chinese people in asia. but for people like me, who can't go around town collecting hongbaos, it's valentine's day! (okay, maybe that expression should've been the other way round.) anyhow, i received the best gifts i've ever received in all valentine's days i've ever celebrated. why? because i did not just receive one gift, but three! my favorite coach keychain, a j crew shawl, and j crew's silver, thin leather waist belt. **^^**
anyway, david took me to ray's boathouse, and he ordered the ehm, award-winning sablefish in sake kasu, and i got the seared alaska weathervane sea scallops. we'd planned to order appetizers, but because we had a little too much california pizza kitchen for lunch (loved their jambalaya pasta!), we decided to forgo that. his meal was, well, of course, delish, but my scallops... well, while they tasted really good, they did not stand out to the other scallops i've had at other restaurants. then we ended dinner with their special valentine day's dark chocolate ganache with salted caramel sauce. and a little something extra (on the way home). hehe.

just arrived at our table. hehe.

oh, the tory burch clutch that i kinda, sorta promised to take a picture of last december. x'mas present from david ♥

some starter bread and my wildberry cosmo. the second worst cocktail i've ever had in life. it tasted like, non-sweetened cough syrup, plus alcohol. yucks.

my scallops entree. a little too much veggies to eat with five pieces of scallop, don't you think? some carbs would've helped. :)

david's sablefish in sake kasu. i wished i'd ordered this one, but i had it the last time i was at the restaurant. so i wanted to try something new.

the dark chocolate cake. i really loved the salted caramel sauce. worked well with the dark chocolate ganache. oh, and check out the two hearts they made out of the sauce. cute.

a little snapshot of us while we were waiting for our food.
with love-
