never enough-$BlogItemTitle$> @ Wednesday, February 24, 2010
shopping, shopping, shopping! i guess girls can never be satisfied with what they have. perhaps it's the media's fault, well, i don't know. and i'm a girl. and i'm one of those girls.
i guess wednesday is not an excuse to be shopping, but bluefly.com just shipped in some brand new jeans, and i saw this pair of j brand's dark wash, tyro stretch skinny pencil leg jeans that i so, so love! and because it's a bluefly product it's obviously way below the retail price! to make things more "urgent", bluefly usually carries limited number of goods, and if i don't grab it and take my time to think, it will be gone! just like the ferragamo heels last year, the botega venetta clutch, etc. also, it's rare that bluefly carries jeans that i love in my size (24), perhaps it runs out faster, or they just don't order that size cos not many people wear it. but i'm happy with what i bought, and i can't wait to alter it and put it on! :D no more AG jeans for me, i'm happy with my new denim. or at least i hope i'll be happy with it...
i'm still waiting for my storm giant city, and some discount on saks fifth avenue. after which i'll go broke and start saving up again. hehe.

quotes-$BlogItemTitle$> @ Saturday, February 20, 2010
just some interesting quotes i saw on facebook this past week:
- "women are like flowers," they say. for some lucky species like roses, they are pampered from the beginning til the end. people still like them when they are dried up! for others, they get trampled on even when they are in bloom.
- dress shabbily, and they remember the dress. dress impeccably, and they remember the woman. (Coco Chanel)
- nature gives you the face you have at twenty. it's up to you to merit your face when you are fifty. (Coco Chanel)
- face and style are the things that people always remember about you. (Coco Chanel)
more to come :)

valentine-haters$BlogItemTitle$> @ Wednesday, February 17, 2010
perhaps i've been oblivious all along, or my non-existence in society other than school these past few years is to blame, but i saw an insurgence of people who... hate valentine's day this year. yes, people who complain on and on why february 14th is so special, and how they do not wish to participate in any of the lovey-dovey things people do on val's day. some of these people are, yes, single, and some are dating.
well, yes, it's true. valentine's day is not an official holiday, and why show extra care and affection on this one day only. valentine's day should be everyday! but a tradition is a tradition, and why complain to the whole world about it? there are tons of other weird traditions we have in this world that people apparently do not care enough to even complain about. here are some reasons why i think people would hate val's day:
- "oh man! i have to spend my precious cash on EXPENSIVE bouquet of flowers, chocolates, gifts, not to mention the dinner at the expensive restaurant... any other day, dinner at a local diner would suffice for her. no flowers, no chocolates, no gifts, nothing."
- "damn, i have no dates for V day! any other day, this would not have mattered, but it's a BIG deal that i'm sad and lonely, having dinner at home on this "lovey-dovey" day!"
oh, maybe that's why we have valentine's day. so people who are usually insensitive enough to make your special someone feel special, feel obligated to do so. perhaps that's the purpose of it all.

val-day! ♥$BlogItemTitle$> @ Monday, February 15, 2010
february the 14th may, well, be chinese new year for most chinese people in asia. but for people like me, who can't go around town collecting hongbaos, it's valentine's day! (okay, maybe that expression should've been the other way round.) anyhow, i received the best gifts i've ever received in all valentine's days i've ever celebrated. why? because i did not just receive one gift, but three! my favorite coach keychain, a j crew shawl, and j crew's silver, thin leather waist belt. **^^**
anyway, david took me to ray's boathouse, and he ordered the ehm, award-winning sablefish in sake kasu, and i got the seared alaska weathervane sea scallops. we'd planned to order appetizers, but because we had a little too much california pizza kitchen for lunch (loved their jambalaya pasta!), we decided to forgo that. his meal was, well, of course, delish, but my scallops... well, while they tasted really good, they did not stand out to the other scallops i've had at other restaurants. then we ended dinner with their special valentine day's dark chocolate ganache with salted caramel sauce. and a little something extra (on the way home). hehe.

just arrived at our table. hehe.

oh, the tory burch clutch that i kinda, sorta promised to take a picture of last december. x'mas present from david ♥

some starter bread and my wildberry cosmo. the second worst cocktail i've ever had in life. it tasted like, non-sweetened cough syrup, plus alcohol. yucks.

my scallops entree. a little too much veggies to eat with five pieces of scallop, don't you think? some carbs would've helped. :)

david's sablefish in sake kasu. i wished i'd ordered this one, but i had it the last time i was at the restaurant. so i wanted to try something new.

the dark chocolate cake. i really loved the salted caramel sauce. worked well with the dark chocolate ganache. oh, and check out the two hearts they made out of the sauce. cute.

a little snapshot of us while we were waiting for our food.

things that creep-$BlogItemTitle$> @
last weekend should've been... okay. well, it was okay in a way. wasn't great, because i had to work last saturday. and it was also saturday when i started going to the bathroom more often. and then it gets more and more often. by sunday morning, i knew something was wrong. which led me to, another doctor visit. *sighs* problems, problems. thank god there are only 6 pills to finish.
anyway, valentine's day is approaching! and... even though i thought i would be on schedule, i haven't really bought david's present. i've not even found my new year's clothes. or valentine's day dress. to make things worse, the things i bought today are... nothing that can fit in any of those categories. a white VS bra. j crew's pastel pink shorts. perhaps i need to head out to bellevue square sometime this week.

thursday day-off ♥$BlogItemTitle$> @ Thursday, February 4, 2010
it's been more than a month since i have a day-off like today. day-off when david doesn't have class too, and we go out to, just do the things we haven't been able to do on normal days. like, eating lunch at kingfish cafe. hitting the mall, just the two of us. sharing our thoughts. little things like that. little things that are apparently, simple, yet memorable in a way.
on a side note, i've just opened a chase checking account in order to get the free $100. and i also applied for their sapphire credit card. ah, i have a feeling like the limit on my card will be pretty low. and if it is, i'd probably cancel the card and forget about my wish of getting a credit card to earn some money while i spend money.
another side note, i've already met up with albert's job search agent, kyle, and she talked about the possibilities of me getting a job at starbucks' corporate center. let's hope that dream comes true! then i'll be earning $14/hr, 40 hrs a week. which equals to a balenciaga bag at the end of each month! when i can only buy one after like, working my ass off for 2.5 months at wells fargo. so let's cross fingers and pray for a better job! *grins* i long for the day i say "goodbye" to wells fargo >=)
also, i'm looking at cruise deals online right now. somehow, the idea of going on a 7-night cruise sounds very, very appealing. perhaps i wanna do that for my birthday this year :D let's pray and hope i've switched jobs by then so i have a little more to spend! ((:
anyhow, here are two pictures of the meal we had at kingfish! (:

the "jazz it slow" gumbo. love, love their gumbo. especially their cornbread. the best!

david's pulled pork sandwich. the buns are really soft and the pork is soft and bursting with flavor. one of the best seasoned fries we've had too.♥
